Celebrity Weight Loss Rumors…

By

In 2013, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s aide revealed that the Governor had weight loss surgery.

Long the subject of late night talk show jokes, the Governor said the surgery had everything to do with his health and family.

But many speculated that Christie had the surgery in preparation for his 2016 political aspirations.

Did he or didn’t he?

Like it or not, the reality is that we are a very appearance-conscious culture.

Back when William Howard Taft (weighing over 300 lbs) was president, most Americans rarely saw him. It was a very different world then. No television, no internet, no Facebook and Twitter to constantly broadcast footage of the president in action.

And even then jokes and rumors about Taft’s weight still circulated, including one about him getting stuck in a bath tub. But he was able to lose about 80 pounds, resolving many health issues after his presidency.

Today, it’s nearly impossible for a high-profile politician, celebrity, or business person NOT to be in the public eye.

We are in an era when politicians are in the public eye more than ever before and even the slightest out-of-place hair or bit of spinach between the teeth ends up on the nightly news or worse, on Perez Hilton.

When Bill Clinton ran for presidency in 1992, the media spent a lot of energy covering his fondness for junk food. Clinton’s weight gain was treated as problematic, and was even parodied on Saturday Night Live by Phil Hartman.

After Clinton gained 30 pounds during the democratic primaries, Hilary Clinton noted that her husband didn’t always make wise food choices. Too bad Personal Trainer Food wasn’t around in 1992.

Bill Clinton eventually lost the weight by learning how to eat healthy and stay out of the fast food restaurants. By focusing on healthy eating habits based around protein and vegetables, the former president is trimmer and healthier than in those early days on the campaign trail.

Celebrity offspring Chaz Bono is another person in the spotlight who recently lost 60 pounds after switching the way he eats. The child of the very famous Sonny & Cher credits eating meats and vegetables and staying away from grains, sugars, and starches as the key.

Chaz made a statement regarding the weight loss saying, “It’s not about dieting, it’s changing eating habits forever.”

We couldn’t agree more. But as for Mr Christie…why didn’t you call Personal Trainer Food?!?

We could have helped you lose weight without surgery!!
